Secret of the 4 musical scales in Negara.
The 3 dances: Kecak Dance, Barong Dance and Legong Dance are famous as traditional Balinese music. However, there is another 4th music, "Jegog" from Negara which is 4 musical scales by the bamboo percussions in the world. Each scale means the four cardinal points and has a god which leads by the center of the god, Siva. The sound of the bamboo is an unique character of Bali which actualizes the world of Hinduism.

Negara in Jembrana has the traditional musical percussion, "Jegog" and a tradtional dance "Makepung", but tourists rarely visit there due to the inconvenient location which takes 4 hours by car from the resort area.
Negara has many Jegog bands, but Suar Agung leading by Mr. Suwentra which has been performing abroad is famous as the best. The leader, Mr. Suwentra is the one who opened up the possibility of Jegog even though it was prohabited to perform after the war due to the belief "huge bamboos could be weapons".
The best hilight of Jegog is Mebarung as known as "Musical Wrestling" that 2 bands which has total 28 gamelans, 14 for each on the stage play against each other. At first, one band performs and next another plays. Finally both 2 bands play together aggressively. You will feel the vibration of the deep bass tone of the bamboo percussions.
