Meditation Day In Bali

Siwaratri is a day to pray for support or strength from Shiva, the destroyer, transformer or recycler, but, a general misconception in Bali is that Siwaratri is a day to pray for forgiveness for our sins. There are those who choose to be silent, fast and meditate from late afternoon or night until morning at different temples all over Bali to erase their sins overnight. Others pray at home or at a main temple and then leave.
